Round Top Designer Show House Guest Suite
For the inaugural Round Top Designer Showhouse, I wanted to design a room that felt like a love letter—to my Texas roots, to quiet craftsmanship, and to the beauty of restraint. The foundation of this guest suite was the wallpaper. Its vintage floral print struck just the right note between nostalgic and fresh, and from there, the entire story unfolded. We created the bedding and drapery in-house, using our own custom fabrics and trims. Every detail—from the chenille ball edging on the curtains to the tailored structure of the headboard—was chosen to walk the line between softness and intention. I wanted the room to feel like a blend of old soul and new hand.
There’s a hair-on-hide pillow at the foot of the bed that wasn’t part of the original plan. It ended up being the detail that grounded the space in something personal and a little unexpected. It’s a subtle nod to the ranching history that shaped so much of Texas—and so much of my story.
What I love most is that it doesn’t feel overly designed. It feels gathered. Gentle. Thoughtful. The kind of room that makes you want to sit for a minute, breathe a little slower, and let the beauty settle in around you.
It was an honor to be part of this inaugural showhouse—where every room told a different story, but each one was anchored in the same thing: the spirit of Texas.
