Thanks and Giving

Thanks and Giving; two words joined together to create the name of our annual celebration of family, friends, community…life! At Susan Semmelmann Interiors, we live by those words every day, and in that particular order. We begin each day with deep gratitude for the blessings in our lives and for the opportunity to do what we love, and we believe that practicing gratitude creates an overflow, a desire to pay those blessings forward and give back to those around us. We consider it an honor to partner with many organizations in our community that work tirelessly for the good of others. Among other projects, this year we had the amazing opportunity to gift the nonprofit organization, a Wish with Wings, with a surprise (and well-deserved) lobby makeover. It was such a joy to see the tremendous impact of a loving gesture for these ladies who give their all to ensure that children with life-threatening medical conditions realize a lifelong wish. This is why we do what we do; we strongly resonate with interior design legend Elsie de Wolfe who said: “I am going to make everything around me beautiful and that will be my life.” Our primary focus when working on any project is, of course, to create beauty. When designing homes for our Dallas Fort Worth interior design clients, we envision warm and welcoming gathering spaces, not only for the holidays but for the celebration of every day. This week we highlight the dining room as a symbol of togetherness and a place of fellowship and connection. As you gather everyone around your table this Thanksgiving, whether it be big or small, fancy or simple, take inspiration from the words of Thomas D. Willhite: “How do you say “thank you” for sunshine or health…for clear days or gentle rains…for happiness, joy, or love? You say it by sharing what you have. You say it by making the world a better place in which to live.” From all of us at Susan Semmelmann Interiors, we wish you Happy Thanks and Giving!
